Drinking around_Ethanol-containing beverage tried recently
This country is know for its ultimate consumption of alcohol (not as good as Russia, though),
and I happen to be around one of the best place for wine making.
It is time to talk some about things I like and would like to make some record.
Beer:
Anchor Porter: As probably the most famous brewery in town, Anchor does make good beer. While Anchor steam is sold everywhere, many of them are regional and hard to get, and Anchor's Porter is even hard to get in town...Wholefoods is the only place I can find now. This beer is a really really well-balanced brown beer with taste of little chocolate/cocca and full-body of fermentation, anything you should ask for a good brown/dark beer, without the lousy bitterness in Guinness or other brown beer/stout. Definitely my favorite beer in the world.
Wine:
Twomey Merlot: Good, I guess (not very good at describing wine ne...but I know if the wine is good or not when I tasted it, haha)
Hop Klin Rose: A dryr rose, which apparently became a trend recently, and nothing more to describe. Still in my fridge and can't find a good occasion to open it yet.
Uvvagio Vermentino: Vermentino is not a common grape you will hear, but again it is becoming popular to use non-blending grapes typically used for blending. A good white wine is always a good starter companion. Also still in my fridge.
Petroni Rossi di Sonoma: A blend of red by Petroni. Fruity and fresh.
Spirits:
Yamazaki 18yr: Well, despite the fact it has little to do with this country, we all know Japanese are so good at producing prestigious liquors, including Whiskey/Scotch. Yamazaki 18yr is probably the easiest-to-buy aged Japan Scotch, while others like Yoichi and Taketsuru are hard to buy outside of Japan. Good balance of smoke and full-body taste and smoothness. Should always have one on the shelf.
Le Reviseur Single Estate Cognac: Again, not from the town or near by but France, the place of V.S.O.P. Smooth and balanced sweetness with great smell.
Drink responsibly!
