Wine tasting!
Just have a chance for wine tasting recently (thx to my new alcohol-mate in SF!!!!)
which is totally free because of VISA promotion
(CITI, why you turn me down...I am a loyal shareholder!!!)
The vineyards for tasting are around the Russian valley (north of Sonoma), where wine tasting people would rather go around Sonoma or Napa (probably the reason of the promotion).
Before tasting,
some good lunch would be great with beer and NFL conference final -->
Hopmonk in Sonoma
http://www.hopmonk.com/sonoma/
It has a selection of homebrew beer.
And the burger is very tasty with the unique bread.
After warming up the stomach with some 15 Oz beer, now we are ready for wine...
The first to taste:
Twomey Cellars
http://www.twomeycellars.com/
It also has another tasting room in Napa.
Famous for its Merlot, and it's pretty good.
Pinot Noir is good, too.
The next stop is Matrix, which is just cross the road to Twomey.
No comment, definitely the one I would never go or buy...
The third stop - Hop Kiln Winery
http://www.hopkilnwinery.com/
It has a signature barn as its logo.
After tasting in the Matrix, somehow I couldn't tell the quality of wines.
Everything tasted so good!!!
Bought a bottle of dry Rose from Pinot Noir.
The final stop is Paradise Ridge Winery
http://www.prwinery.com/
Got there when they are closing, but the view is astonishing!
The wine is good, too.
It has a longlist of reservation for wedding.
A good trip. Now I have to plan to get a wine cellar...
